Since 2008 Simon has worked on multiple shows each year that go out live to Broadcast and from 2010 live to the internet. The shows used to go out via OB Sat trucks, though since the development of low latency encoders the live shows have gone directly to platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live and more recently independent platforms.

Simon’s vast experience of Live Broadcast, Events, XR Stages and Streamed shows have come together over 2020 to support clients and bring their events to life in the virtual environment.

In 2020 Simon set up VETP (Virtual Event Technical Production) co-operative with Sam Beech & Jon Coventry as a sister company to provide Virtual solutions and vMix Services to our clients www.vetp.co.uk.

MSD - Live Stream Conference - On behalf of INVNT

We turned the client’s head office meeting room spaces into a TV studio to stream their conference with set, camera and playback package, including sound and lighting.

Mercer - EMEA & US Conferences - On behalf of INVNT

Challenging virtual events for Mercer, with a European conference followed by the US conference a month later. Shows were 2 live days with a main plenary and 6 breakout rooms each with full video production and 65 live presenters per 4 hour show. Pre-event 3 days of pre-records were conducted per show using Open Reel and vMix with Teams over NDI.

Clients based in the US, Australia and Europe , Video Galleries in Chicago, Producing Galleries in London, presenters international.

Ernst Young - EMEA Conferance - On belief of SmartAV & Jack Morton

Shot in an Extended Reality Stage, the show was 3 days of live and pre-recorded content in 3 different XR Worlds with the addition of remote presenters. As a team of TD’s on site we brought the technical, scheduling, run of show and content management together.

SAP - On behalf of INVNT

Presenters across Europe simultaneously live to a studio in Sydney to present a pre-recorded show for SAP. We had bi-directional live links over the internet in each country to conduct the pre-record live. The raw captured footage was then uploaded for the final edit.

TD role to deliver the nominees pre-records through vMix with AV kits purchased and delivered prior, pre-record of the main show in an XR Stage, platform support and delivery of the breakout session live in vMix & Zoom.

Pre-Records has become a vital part of virtual events, through experience we now prefer to record using vMix or Open Reel dependant on budget. We bring delegates in through a Zoom call and spend this time in Zoom to brief them and set them up technically to get the best picture and sound quality.

For a number of clients, we send out high quality and easy to use AV kits with instructions, these include Ethernet cables, adapters, Web Cams, Microphones and lighting.
