Starting his carer after leaving school, Simon trained at a producing theatre & events venue through the 90’s in all the technical disciplines, whilst completing his BETEC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering & City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications at college. Also during this time Simon freelanced working on live music events, FOH Sound Engineering for clients like the BBC and LD/HOD Lighting & Rigging for music festivals in green field sites.

Coming to London in early 2000’s Simon joined White Light in the technical & logistics team, progressing into the new production department, looking after the live events and White Lights key clients for full productions.

After White Light Simon joined Energy Marketing Group (Energy Live) and progressed to the companies Production Director before the age of 30. Energy managed many financial brands from Travelex, Bank AIG to Barclays delivering their quarterly sales conferences, launches, parties and experiential marketing campaigns across Europe & North Africa.

With the development of Westfield in Europe, Simon joined them to consult, design and deliver the new concept of live event venues within public shopping centres. This was a unique challenge as this had not been done before, and we had to realise how to deliver anything from experiential events to 10,000 attendance concerts in a middle of a shopping centre, whilst 120,000 public shop and the operations of the shopping centre is not affected. This result of much hard work, was success, other brands copying us world wide, then onto the delivery of multiple events spaces in Westfield London, Stratford City and designs completed ready for installation in Milan & Croydon. On average an events project delivery was approximately £7.5million of infrastructure and £6million of equipment, then deliver of show production annually of £10million. Once these venues where opened Simon would manage the departments to ensure they smoothly operated, this included Production (delivering the events), Technical (maintenance and legislation), the new projects, install teams and the many subcontractors.

After Westfield Simon enjoyed going back agency side at HEART Productions, who deliver projects to the highest standards, have a great design ethos and attention to detail. During his time at HEART Productions Simon delivered shows internationally and major UK Public engagement events.

Now Simon is the owner of SJ-TPM Limited working for international agencies delivering technical production in the UK, Europe and across the world. Simon also designs, consults and project directs venue build and installation projects for new venues and refits, thus using his technical expertise to make great operational and well thought through events spaces.
